Farnas is a Doctoral Researcher in Human Rights at the Australian National University, specialising in the protection of refugee children's rights. Her PhD project, "Evaluating the Role of UN Treaty Bodies on Refugee Children's Rights," provides the first comprehensive analysis of how UN Treaty Bodies interpret and apply human rights norms to children in refugee contexts.

She teaches International Law, Lawyers Justice and Ethics, and Commercial Law at the Australian National University as a Sessional Academic. She also serves pro bono as a Legal Advisor for Asylex, a Switzerland-based NGO providing legal assistance to refugees.

Farnas holds an LLM with Distinction in International Human Rights Law from the University of Huddersfield and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Chittagong. Her research has been presented at leading academic platforms and contributes to advancing the rights of children globally.
