Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service
Principle Managing Lawyer, Civil and Human Rights
Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service
The Civil and Human Rights practice at the Victorian Aboriginal Legal Service has had interns from the JD program at the ANU since the start of 2020 (a mix of a remote internship for students in Canberra and face-to-face for those based in Melbourne), and recently our strategic litigation team has also started taking on interns. Students have been exposed to day to day casework at a CLC and worked on a wide variety of matters for First Nations people with the lawyers, across inquests, tenancy, strategic litigation, discrimination and consumer matters. The students have been fantastic, and we look forward to continuing the relationship for years to come.
