Why did you choose ANU?

I have always wanted to study law at a top university in Australia. I was aware of the reputation of ANU as one of Australia's leading universities, and I was also impressed with the breadth of courses available as part of completing the Juris Doctor (JD).

What is the highlight of ANU Law for you?

Coming from central Victoria, I found the experience of meeting people from all over the world and Australia throughout my studies to be one of the most outstanding elements of the course. From meeting colleagues from Asia to others from interstate, I have made some great friends and learnt a lot from this experience.

Who has been your most influential academic and why?

I had some great teachers throughout the course, including Associate Professor Ryan Goss, Professor Kim Rubenstein FAAL, FASSA and Pauline Bomball. However I would like to make a special mention of (the late) Professor Thomas Faunce, who added his unique and insightful touch to the Law School. He had a compassionate take to his teaching, and I really appreciated how he took personal interest in every one of his students. He is a big loss to the Law School, ANU in general, and future students who will not get the opportunity to be taught by him.

What is one word you would choose to describe your ANU Law student experience?

Fun. I have enjoyed all the experiences, and the intellectual challenges that the JD has provided me. While it was all tough work, it was thoroughly enjoyable.
