Assistance and Feedback on Writing

Academic Skills are offering students a range of 1-1 support options, either on campus, online (via Zoom) or by written feedback.
Students are encouraged to make use of these as they can gain highly personalised assistance and feedback on their writing and other language questions.

When are sessions held?
From weeks 1-12 of semester (excluding mid-semester break)
In-person and online sessions
Monday-Friday, 12pm - 3pm

Available to all ANU students
Peer Writers can help you with:
- Analysing a question
- Understanding the requirements for a report, critical review, annotated bibliography or some other type of assessment
- Developing a plan for your essay, report, oral presentation or other type of assessment
- Referencing questions
- Preparing for exams
- Time-management techniques

English Conversation Groups
When are sessions held?
From weeks 1-12 of Semester Two, 2023
In-person sessions
Monday to Friday, 1-2pm

Available to all ANU students with language backgrounds other than English.
Students who have English as their first language can volunteer their time with the groups.
Academic Skills also runs English Conversation Groups in person or online.
Conversation groups are a great way to meet new people and practice your English.
English conversation groups are offered online via Zoom and in-person on campus (except during lockdowns) throughout the semester.
Dean of Students
Appointments are usualy available Monday to Friday, between 10am-12pm (noon), and 1.30pm - 3.30pm

The Dean of Students provides confidential, impartial advice and can help to resolve problems by acting as a neutral intermediary between students and the academic or administrative areas of the University.
