Transferring into Law Programs
Currently enrolled ANU students wishing to change the program they are studying to a law program may apply for a program transfer.
New students may not apply for a program transfer until they have completed a minimum of one course (6 units). Transferring to a new program is an act of admission and all applications will be assessed against admission requirements.
Transferring into the Bachelor of Laws (Honorus) or FDD Law
- Students who have completed fewer than 48 units (less than one year of full-time study) but have successfully completed a minimum of 6 units will be assessed solely on their ATAR or an ATAR-equivalent score. The minimum ATAR required for admission is 97, and adjustment factors will not be considered.
- Students who have completed 48 units (equivalent to one year of full-time study) in their current ANU program will no longer be assessed based on their ATAR. The assessment will be conducted using the ANU Grade Point Average (GPA), with a minimum requirement of 5.6 on a 7.0 scale.
Transferring from the Graduate Certificate of Law (CLAW) to Master of Laws (LLM) or Juris Doctor (JD)
- Students must complete all 24 units from the Graduate Certificate of Law (CLAW) with a minimum GPA of 5.0 on a 7.0 scale.
- Students must not graduate from the CLAW, as graduation will necessitate the submission of a new admission application.
For transferring into all other law programs, please contact the Law School at enquiries.law@anu.edu.au
