  • Alice Linacre PSM (BA'03, LLB'03, GDLP’05, ExecMPA’24) has been appointed as the Australian Freedom of Information Commissioner. Alice previously served as First Assistant Secretary, Courts and Commercial Division, at the Attorney-General’s Department.

  • Sue-Lin Wong (LLB’14, BAsianStud’14) has won the 2025 Lowy Institute Media Award for her eight-part podcast series, ‘Scam Inc’, which examines the impact of the sophisticated international industry of online scams. Sue-Lin was also recently recognised by TIMES in their 100 best podcasts feature for her podcast The Prince – an eight-part series tracing the rise of Chinese President Xi Jinping. Sue-Lin is The Economists China correspondent.

  • Associate Professor Heather Roberts (BAsianStud’00, LLB ’00, GDLP ’00, PhD ‘08) has been appointed a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law. Associate Professor Roberts is an internationally recognised scholar whose research spans judicial studies, property law, and constitutional law.

  • Keiran Pender (BA’16, LLB’18, GDLP’19 ) and Jennifer Robinson (LLB’06, BAsianStud’06), together with Phoebe Cook, have published a chapter in a new book by The Federation Press, Public Law and Criminal in Australia: Overlap, Intersection and Inconsistency. Their chapter is title is titled 'Whistleblowing, Secrecy and Transparency in Australia: Whither the Public Interest?'

  • Helen Zhang (BAsiaPacStud’10, LLB(Hons)’10, GDLP’12) writes for the Australian Financial Review on the Albanese government’s visit to the US. Helen is a former Australian diplomat and Google public policy manager. She is co-founder of Intrigue Media and a director at Schmidt Futures, working on the future of geopolitics.
