The Hon Justice Monika Schmidt AM was a judge of the Supreme Court of New South Wales from 2009 until 2019, appointed to the Common Law Division, having previously been a judge of the Industrial Court of New South Wales for 16 years. Justice Schmidt was appointed as a judge of the Industrial Court of New South Wales in 1993, aged just 32. The Industrial Court of NSW had the equivalent status of the Supreme Court of NSW. With the Judicial Commission of New South Wales, Justice Schmidt has been a member of the advisory committee on judicial education and a member of the Conduct Division dealing with complaints about judicial officers. Prior to her appointment to the bench, her Honour was a partner with Minter Ellison and a casual lecturer at Sydney University's Law School. Since 2019, Justice Schmidt has been an acting justice of the Supreme Court of NSW. She is also a popular and valued member of the ANU College of Law Visiting Judges program that is convened by Associate Professor Heather Roberts.

Jonathan Harley is the Head of Media Strategy and Development at Canva, working with newsrooms and media businesses to solve their design and production challenges. Prior to establishing Canva, Jonathan was the Director of News Partnerships for the Asia-Pacific at Twitter. Jonathan brought to this role over 25 years' experience in news and current affairs with the ABC and Channel Nine's 60 Minutes. During his years as a foreign correspondent, Jonathan established a reputation as one of a handful of foreign journalists regularly visiting and covering Taliban Afghanistan. He earned unrivalled access to areas of the country and key leaders to offer a unique window on the hermit state. On September 11, 2001, he was the only Australian journalist to be in Kabul. As the ABC's Bureau Chief for South Asia, Jonathan drove its digital and physical transformation from an outdated, run-down analogue set-up to an adaptable digital footprint.

Dr Mark Staples is a Senior Principal Researcher at CSIRO’s Data61 and holds a conjoint position at UNSW. He has held software and systems engineering management roles, in industries including industrial control, electronic payments, and medical devices. His research is in blockchain, regtech, software architecture, software engineering, and philosophy of engineering. He is on the steering committee for Australia’s National Blockchain Roadmap, the international committee for the standardisation of blockchain and distributed ledger technology, and the OECD’s blockchain expert policy advisory board. He has degrees in computer science and cognitive science from the University of Queensland, and a PhD in computer science from the University of Cambridge.
