ISOP 2024 Parliament House
International Students Orientation Program (ISOP): Semester Two 2024

The International Students Orientation Program (ISOP) consists of a series of visits to various key sites and landmarks in Canberra and compulsory on-campus sessions to introduce international and inbound exchange students to Australian institutions that are relevant to the study of law. All eligible students will be enrolled into LAWS1001/LAWS6001: English in a Legal Context.

The following content and activities are addressed:

  • essay writing techniques;
  • how to reference and cite correctly;
  • techniques to simplify legal writing;
  • types of legal research training available and the required research skills;
  • examination and assessment advice;
  • participating effectively in robust discussion at our National institutions that bring the law to life.

The program runs throughout Semester One, 2024, and a bus will be provided to transport registered participants to off-campus locations, except to the ACT Supreme Court where we will walk across campus.

Don't miss out on this amazing opportunity to hear and learn from leading ANU College of Law academics about developing your academic skills and building an understanding and awareness of the Australian legal system as they bring the laws that govern our democracy to life.
