A research article examining Australian corporations’ policy commitment to human rights by Professor Sally Wheeler OBE, MRIA, FAcSS, FAAL, Dean of The Australian National University (ANU) College of Law and Pro-Vice Chancellor (International Strategy), has been shortlisted for the Socio-Legal Studies Association (SLSA) Article Prize 2021.

Professor Wheeler’s article, ‘Committing to human rights in Australia’s corporate sector’, was published in The Griffith Law Review (Vol 28, Issue 3). The paper draws on empirical data collected from Australia's 50 largest publicly listed companies. 

Professor Jeremy Farrall, Associate Dean (Research), said the shortlisting of Professor Wheeler’s article marked another research milestone for the ANU College of Law.

“As a College, we’re delighted to celebrate the shortlisting of Professor Wheeler’s article at these prestigious awards. Her success affirms ANU Law’s global reputation as a leader in socio-legal research, particularly following our recently appointed ARC DECRA fellows whose research also employs socio-legal methods and insights,” he said.

ANU College of Law holds the highest possible ranking for research based on the Australian Research Council’s (ARC) Excellence for Research in Australia rankings.

This year’s other shortlisted papers are:

The winner of the SLSA Article Prize 2021 will be announced on 31 March.
