Starting in private practice with MinterEllison, Carolyn moved on to serve as an in-house counsel in the aviation sector, at AWAS Aviation Services (owned by Morgan Stanley). With Westpac she has worked in a variety of roles, including Head of Group Corporate Legal, Chief of Staff to Westpac CEO Brian Hartzer, Chief Risk Officer of BT Financial Group, Westpac's wealth division, and her current role, responsible for the property, procurement, security and business continuity functions of Westpac.

• Named 2013 In-house Woman Lawyer of the Year by the Women Lawyers Association of NSW.
• Responsible for overseeing matters ranging from auditing, reporting and director liabilities, to mergers and charitable initiatives, as Westpac's Head of Group Corporate Legal.
• A stint as the Chief of Staff to the Westpac Group CEO Brian Hartzer, for his first two and half years as CEO.
