Nick is recognised as a leading Australian authority in contract law. He advises Australian Government agencies and the private sector in common law and commercial law matters, including major contracts, major acquisitions and application of the Competition and Consumer Act. Nick also advises on the operation of other legislation affecting government and private sector entities.

Nick has extensive experience advising on the application of the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013 and its subordinate legislation such as the Commonwealth Procurement Rules and the Commonwealth Grant Guidelines. He advises on statutory interpretation and has assisted DAWR (when it was DAFF) develop operating procedures to ensure compliance with a range of legislation.

He advises on administrative law, including in respect of defensible decision making.

Nick has been an academic for over forty years in Melbourne, Papua New Guinea and at the Australian National University. He has taught contracts, torts, property, industrial law and IT law. He is an adjunct professor at the ANU College of Law and continues to teach in the graduate program.
