Research biography

Circular Economic Policy- Scoping Embedded Emissions Accounting systems and frameworks and Circularity for net zero industrial transition. My initial focus is on Iron & Steel, with a broader scope of analyzing other hard-abate Heavy industry key materials and products.

I have a strong background in Environmental Sciences, Management and policy, providing analytical and research based evidence to stakeholders for effective decision making and policy making. I have worked in the areas of Ecological restoration and ecosystem management, Environmental pollution laws and liabilties, Ecosystem services and Valuation, Natural Resource Management. The most recent work was focused on Energy and Climate policies, and Renewable energy transition. I was a lead initiator of "Clean Energy Transition Program of Pakistan" with efforts to mobilize key actors in driving Renewables in Pakistan, including movement away from Fossil fuels investments from China under CPEC. I also led major advisory roles in Government's technical committees and working groups, providing recommendations and implementable solutions. In addition, i was part of climate change program, with deeper focus on climate policies and development, as well as climate finance and Green financing of state banks and private financial institutions. My research programs were based on data driven research projects, coupled with public private dialogues, stakeholder consultations and high level conferences and seminars. I represented as a focal person at National and International Energy Think Tank networks, as well as served as a National Coordinator for Climate Action Network for South Asia. In a nutshell, i am a experienced researcher and professional, carrying strong research background and skills, and advanced with technical and management skills to visualize, design, implement research projects and programs with tangible impact and outcome.
