Join us for an introduction (or re-introduction) to Australia's cultural, political and judicial landscape as we delve into discussions each week to learn about law where the laws are made.

All sessions are held virtually over Zoom.

Week 1: Introduction to the program and life at ANU

Join Associate Professor Joshua Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), and Sean See, ANU Law Students' Society International Students Director, for the first session of the International Student Immersion Program (ISIP) as they chat about the program and life at ANU.

This is an excellent opportunity to get to know new students and preview what's ahead as you begin your ANU Law studies. Bring your enthusiasm and your questions!

Week 2: Exam preparation tips

As as a new law student, preparing for law school examinations may seem pretty daunting. Fellow international student Samuel Lee and Associate Professor Joshua Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), will share their best tips and tricks on how you can get ready for take home exams. Trust us, this is not a session to miss!

Week 3: Australia's history

Venue: Zoom

To understand the present, you have to know the past. Take a deep dive into the history of Australia with Associate Professor Joshua Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), and Ashlee Smith, ANU Law Students' Society Vice-President (Equity), in this session. Not only will your newfound knowledge enrich your time in Australia, it will also help your studies (and prepare you for trivia next week)!

Week 4: Trivia and prizes

It's a battle of the brains. It's a test of the best. It's your chance to live every aspiring lawyer's dream and become a QC (quiz champion). Join us for our fun Kahoot as we discover who has been paying attention during Week 1 and 3 of our ISIP sessions. Week 5: Australia's political landscape

You know about Parliament House, but do you know the difference between the upper and lower house? From Scullin to Sco-Mo, join Associate Professor Joshua Neoh, Sub-Dean (International), and fellow international student, Yue Jiang (Maggie), as they unpack the Australian political landscape and what distinguishes it from their own respective countries, Malaysia and China.
