Event description

The ANU Law and Philosophy Forum is delighted to announce its third meeting in 2021: a work-in-progress seminar with Professor Kit Barker, on his work on ‘Rights of Action in Public and Private Law – Some Hohfeldian Analytics’. All are welcome to attend.

Kit Barker is Professor of Private Law at the University of Queensland. He is a leading scholar on the philosophical foundations, doctrine and remedies of private law, and has particular interest in the law of torts and unjust enrichment. He will share his work-in-progress with the ANU Law and Philosophy Forum, in which he applies Hohfeldian analytics to ‘rights of action’ in public and private law. Professor Barker’s presentation will be followed by a discussion of his draft paper.

Professor Barker has provided the draft paper for circulation to attendees, and invites attendees to provide any comments they might have ahead of the seminar. Please register to access the paper, and please send any comments to jelena.gligorijevic@anu.edu.au by midday on Monday 26 April.

The Forum hosts guest speakers, holds workshops, and discusses recent scholarship of note in the field. Meetings are open to faculty members and research students from ANU College of Law and the School of Philosophy, and friends and colleagues of both.
