Regarded as a leader of the profession for her promotion of gender equality and diversity in the law, and of working arrangements which enable lawyers with family responsibilities to remain in practice, Janine's rise through legal ranks has been rapid. Prior to her appointment to the Supreme Court, she specialised in administrative and constitutional law, and appeared in the High Court as counsel for the State of Western Australia in constitutional matters.
