Blockchain research initiative

Overview

In 2019, ANU became the first university in the country to secure US$1million in funding from US-based cryptocurrency exchange platform Ripple, as part of its US$50m University Blockchain Research Initiative. The funding provides for research and education on the legal implications for the profession and governments from the emerging technologies of blockchain, smart contracts, and digital payments.

This project aims to advance understanding and innovation in blockchain, cryptocurrency, digital payments and related fields.
