Biography

I currently work as a lecturer in the Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice course teaching Civil Litigation, Becoming A Practitioner and Ready for Practice courses.

I practised as a lawyer for 18 years prior to joining the Australian National University in 2009. I have held senior lawyer positions for 10 years and have worked for private law firms and government lawyers in my legal career.  My practice at these firms included acting on behalf of and advising government departments and agencies, insurance companies and individuals in civil litigation matters in the Federal, and various Supreme and District Courts.

Philosophy & approach

My aim is to set my students on an independent learning journey that will see them through their legal career.  I allow my students to learn independently within a supported structure comprised of their peers and my teaching team  and then use that newly gained independence to continue their learning once they became lawyers.
