Biography

Ben is a PhD candidate at the ANU. His thesis examines whether and to what extent the High Court’s jurisprudence has affected economic inequality.

Before starting his PhD, Ben practiced first as a prosecutor and then as a defence lawyer and appeared or instructed in a wide range of criminal matters. He also did legal policy work at the Law Council of Australia, chiefly in the areas of criminal law and national security/counter-terrorism law. 

He has a BA (Philosophy & Classical Languages) from the University of Alberta, a JD from Bond University and an LLM from the ANU.
