Team-Based Blended Learning: how to approach a horror, but necessary, combination in legal education

Dr Justine Rogers (UNSW Law and also a stand-up comedian) will be talking about how we can ensure that students can positively engage in teamwork, specifically blended teamwork?

National university regulations and the Threshold Learning Outcomes for Law recognise the importance of teamwork. They stipulate that law students acquire and be able to demonstrate skills in communication and collaboration. A growing body of research is establishing the positive links between teamwork, achievement, critical thinking, problem-solving ability, creativity and wellbeing. Yet, law students tend to resist and resent group work.

Adding to the challenge, universities are vigorously adopting digital learning. Their approach is primarily blended learning or learning that integrates face-to-face and online modes. So, how do we ensure that students can positively engage in teamwork, specifically blended teamwork?
