The ANU Law-based Federal Law Review has awarded the annual Zines Prize for Excellence in Legal Research to Monash University-based Faculty of Law contributor Dr Lisa Burton Crawford.
The prize is awarded to the most outstanding article published by the journal in 2016 and is judged by a panel of legal scholars. This year the panel comprised Professor James Stellios, Associate Professor Pauline Ridge, Associate Professor Greg Weeks, and Dr Heather Roberts.
The article, Can Parliament Confer Plenary Executive Power? The Limitations Imposed by Sections 51 and 52 of the Australian Constitution, examined the lack of clarity around principles of Australian constitutional law that could prevent the federal Parliament from conferring plenary executive power.Dr Burton will receive $500 for the award. The article is available to subscribers of the Federal Law Review online.
