Rights, respect, recognition: a new deal for older Australians

The instinctive way we make assumptions about age and draw unwarranted inferences based on age and about people's personality and capacity was the subject of a paper presented by Professor Simon Rice OAM at the COTA Australia's National Policy Forum 2013.

Professor Rice discussed how anti-discrimination laws work to prevent age discrimination, and considered the feasibility and potential effectiveness of an international treaty on discrimination against older people.
