Migrants outside the frames of community

Global trends have revealed an identifiable shift in the general approach to migration. Migrants are consistently framed into the discourse of social cohesion and integrity. The frames of cohesion, sovereign borders and protection of local society leave migrants outside the boundaries of narrowly understood 'community'. As a consequence of such representations they are perceived as a serious threat and framed as essentially alien subjects.
