If there's something Xinyu (Alice) Huang understands better than most, it's the trepidation that many international students are experiencing due to COVID-19. Border closures. Social isolation. Remote study. For many, it's an experience they never anticipated. As someone who was in their shoes not long ago, Alice didn't hesitate when the opportunity to join a students arrival taskforce arose at the Federal Government department where she is employed. As a policy officer, she's found that many of the skills she honed during her law studies - including critical thinking and voluminous reading - have wide application beyond the legal profession.
