Canberra-born and raised, Dan Trevanion (BA/LLB (Hons) ’17) immersed himself in almost every opportunity you could imagine as a law student at ANU. He was part of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court championship-winning ANU team in 2016; he served as president of the ANU Law Students' Society; he was a New Colombo Plan Scholar; and he was an active member of the Australia-Indonesia Youth Association, an organisation he continues to serve today as president.
Today, he's an experienced disputes lawyer at Clyde and Co where he acts for and advises multinational contractors on major projects, specialising in large-scale commercial arbitration and litigation, multi-jurisdictional advisory work and Indonesia. He's also continued his award-winning ways since graduating from ANU, winning the 2020 Lawyers Weekly 30 Under 30 Award in the Construction and Infrastructure category.
Listen as Dan reflects on the experiences and friendships that enriched his ANU Law degree, his work strengthening Australian-Indonesian business ties as principal of consultancy firm Tentangga, and his advice to law graduates to keep sight of their pre-university dreams and not be swept away by others' notions of "success".
