Published by ANU Law Reform and Social Justice (LRSJ) project GreenLaw, The Practical Guide to Law and Protests in the ACT is the territory's first comprehensive resource to assist the public in safely navigating their involvement in non-violent public actions. It aims to ensure the ACT community is able to exercise their rights to political communication and be active participants in Australia’s vibrant democracy.
The guide was launched on 19 May 2021 at the ANU College of Law's Moot Court. In attendance were Aunty Matilda House-Williams, a Ngambri-Ngunnawal-Wiradjuri Elder; Professor Sally Wheeler OBE, Dean of the ANU College of Law and ANU Deputy-Vice Chancellor (International Strategy); Associate Professor Matthew Zagor, LRSJ Director; and the Honourable Shane Rattenbury (BEc '93, LLB (Hons) '95, GDLS '96), Attorney-General of the ACT and an ANU College of Law alumnus.
