The Cup & Spoon (aka Noticeboard)

Union Court closure Monday 7 August

Reunion Court

Important Notice - From Monday 7 August there will be NO ACCESS TO UNION COURT

From next Monday, all access to Union Court between the Pop-Up Village and North Road will be closed. Signs will be posted around Union Court advising of the best ways to get around campus and updated maps are also available on the Union Court Revitalisation website. Please note, you may need to allow extra time to get around campus.

Chifley Library will remain open throughout the project.

The revitalisation project is on schedule and demolition work has already begun on the Manning Clarke Centre, Arts Centre and Concessions Building. From next week, you may notice an increase in noise as more demolition gets underway. Site fencing will stay in place until the development is completed at the beginning of 2019.

We appreciate that the redevelopment of Union Court will be a disruption for the next 17 months and thank you for your patience. When complete, the revitalised precinct will bring together the University’s facilities and attractions to create a new learning, cultural, and social precinct in the heart of ANU.

Getting around campus

The best way to get across campus for most people will be via Denis Winston Walk near Fellows Oval. We are currently building a quicker route between Melville Hall and Chifley Library that will be opened shortly. Updated maps on Reunion Court website.

Bike racks closed

All bike racks in Union Court are currently closed and bikes need to be removed before the site is sealed off at 6am Monday 7 August. Email us if you have a question about cycling.

Desire paths

Shortcuts are good. But planning paths that enhance people's experience of a place and are accessible to everyone is even better. Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) Professor Marnie Hughes-Warrington discusses desire paths in her latest blog.

The ANU Union and the University are pleased to announce that they have come to an agreement to help move towards the relaunch of the ANU Union with an exciting new operation program from 2018. ANU Union update.

New shops pop-up

The Pop-Up Village continues to come to life with more shops opening every week and a new ATM being installed today. Uni Corner Cafe, Uni Cycles and ANU Shop are some of the most recent shops to open. Campus Bakery will also be opening shortly and Australia Post is due to open in six weeks.
