Farewell - Paul Maharg

Paul Maharg

Dear Colleagues

With regret I write to share with you the news that Professor Paul Maharg will be leaving us at the end of April to take up a position as Distinguished Professor of Practice – Legal Education at Osgood Hall Law School, York University, Toronto.

Paul joined the College in 2013; prior to this he had been an Adjunct Professor since 2011.  During his time with us he has made a huge contribution to the College, drawing on his unique expertise and experience at the intersection of legal education and the legal profession to keep us at the forefront of developments on the international stage.  He has had a vital role in the development of the online JD, particularly in its design around Problem Based Learning.

Paul designed and established our innovative Centre for Profession, Education and Regulation in Law (PEARL), and has been its inaugural Director.  I am pleased to say that he will maintain his links with PEARL and so we will not be losing the benefit of his cutting-edge insights and ideas.

Outside the College, Paul has worked with the University’s Centre for Higher Education, Learning and Teaching, and their Higher Education Academy Fellowship initiatives.

Please join me in wishing Paul all the very best in his prestigious new appointment.

Regards, Stephen
