Farewell - George Barker

George Barker

Dear Colleagues,

I have been remiss in not informing you before now that Associate Professor George Barker will be leaving the College on 19 April, ending a twenty year association with the College.

George was a Visiting Fellow between 1998 and 2005, and was then appointed as Associate Professor and Director of the Centre for Law and Economics in 2006, positions that he has held since then, on a fractional basis.

George has been a quiet and steady presence in the College, bringing his expertise in, and passion for, the study of law and economics to many of our research and teaching endeavours, and working closely with a number of colleagues.

With George’s departure, the Centre for Law and Economics will cease its operations, but I know that a number of colleagues will continue to infuse their work, and the work of our research groups, with insights from the law and economics school of thought.

Please join me in thanking George for his many years of colleagueship, and in wishing him all the best for the future.

Regards, Stephen
