Dear Colleagues

In this final Executive update for 2016 I set out some of the ‘big things’ that are on the Executive Committee agenda when we return in 2017.  In no particular order:

• Internal restructuring of College, following on from the November Retreat
• Responding to the University Strategic Plan (which will be released by the VC early in February)
• Discussion with University Executive about College’s financial situation and future financial arrangements
• Awaiting decision from University Executive about our proposed increase to building renovation budget
• Academic staff recruitment plans
• Finalising and implementing new academic workload policy (for Law School at first instance)
• Preparation of tender regarding the shift of Migration Law program from Grad Cert to Grad Dip
• Continuing to monitor and improve enrolment numbers in GDLP program
• Monitor impact of increased ATAR on numbers in the LLBHons (and Flexible Double Degree) program

I will be away until 16 January, attending the Association of American Law Schools conference in San Francisco.  Don Rothwell will be Acting Dean from 3 January until I return.
