ANU is committed to providing a diverse and inclusive campus where all people can safely work and study free of harassment or discrimination.
In support of this we have 2 sessions on Ally Training with spaces available on Tuesday 1 August.
This half day workshop, for all academic and professional staff will be facilitated by Pride in Diversity, a specialist employer support program for LGBTI workplace inclusion; dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of LGBTI people by reducing exclusion, invisibility, homophobia and stigma in the workplace.
Ally Training provides participants with an overall understanding of why LGBTIQ inclusion is important and explores challenges often faced by people who identify as LGBTIQ and the impact of harassment and discrimination.
All participants will complete the course with knowledge and skills to create an inclusive culture for LGBTIQ staff and students and how to be an effective Ally within the ANU community.
Feedback from attendees of past sessions includes:
“The presenter was amazing and really engaging. One of the best training courses I have been to.”
“The metaphors and stories allowed me to relate to the issues and challenges facing the LGBTIQ* community.”
“Excellent facilitation - frank and honest dialogue, and good practical examples.”
To attend this workshop please book via HORUS. There is a small charge of $40 to attend.
