Law Reform and Social Justice

Community Legal Education (CLE) informs and equips people with knowledge of laws they may encounter in everyday life. In this workshop, Radhika will cover some key tips and tools for delivering good CLE, including:

  • Identifying who your audience is and what kind of information they need:
  • Finding the right level of detail for your CLE;
  • Using visual aids and handouts in presentations;
  • Using case studies in presentations.
  • There will also be opportunities for questions and answers.

  • Radhika Chaudhri »

    Radhika Chaudhri completed a LLB (Hons)/ B Arts, and an LLM from the Australian National University. Radhika worked briefly as a graduate clerk for a large commercial law firm, before taking up an associateship with Hon Chief Justice James Allsop at the Federal Court of Australia in Sydney. Radhika has also worked as a lawyer at Canberra Community Law, a community legal centre that provides free legal assistance to vulnerable Canberrans in the areas of public housing law and social security law. Radhika ran the Socio-legal Practice Clinic within Canberra Community Law, in conjunction with a social worker, which aimed to provide multidisciplinary assistance to particularly vulnerable clients. As part of her work with the Canberra Community Law, Radhika also delivered CLE to others working within the community sector, as well as the general public, mostly in the areas of social security law, human rights law, and tenancy law. Radhika now works as a lecture at the ANU College of Law.
