In this seminar Professor Bonell will speak about the UNIDROIT Principles of International Commercial Contracts, a code developed by representatives of various legal systems which may be adopted as the governing law of a particular contract. UNIDROIT is an independent, intergovernmental organisation based in Rome that seeks to harmonise and coordinate the private law of different states. The code has been used by arbitrators and judges in many jurisdictions as an infl uential statement of internationally recognised principles governing international commercial contracts.
