The ANU Centre for Law, Arts and the Humanities is proud to present the Derrida Reading Group, an interdisciplinary gathering intended for staff and research students.
The aim is to provide a close reading and comprehensive discussion of some of Derrida’s key texts, in a supportive and interdisciplinary environment. We will begin with Force of Law: The Mystical Foundation of Authority, which will take place over four sessions on a fortnightly basis.
Subject to the input and interest of members of the group, future texts may include extracts from Of Grammatology, The Beast and the Sovereign, Writing and Difference, Of Hospitality, and Ghostly Demarcations.
Time, location & readings
- Force of Law sessions are 4-5.30pm on Fridays 16 June and 30 June.
- Location: Fellows Bar (we will book a room for a quiet environment but conveniently located near beer and chips).
- For enquiries or readings please e-mail Teagan-Jane Westendorf
We look forward to seeing you there, and we expect all participants to be beastly, hospitable and/or forceful. Grammar optional.
