LRSJ workshop
Law Reform and Social Justice

One of the barriers to access to justice is that people often don't know how to navigate through complex law. Community Legal Education aims to address this gap by providing the public with the 'awareness, knowledge and skills' needed to solve their legal problems. It is often one of the core services that legal aid organisations provide.

This workshop will be a chance to hear from and ask questions of Heidi Yates, current Head of Practice at Legal Aid ACT and someone with a lot of experience in the community law sector. Heidi will be sharing her expertise in Community Legal Education and top tips for communicating law to a wider audience. You will broaden your thinking on how to do law as students (and beyond) and develop some skills in Community Legal Education.
