Add this date to your diary and make sure you arrive in Canberra in plenty of time to make the most of your Orientation week (O-week) experience. O-week is a great opportunity to get a taste of what university life can offer you and help you prepare for your studies, explore the ANU campus and connect with other new students. The large range of social and academic events in the O-week program can help set you up to succeed in the early stages of your program.

Is attending O-week compulsory?

Attendance at O-week is essential. During this week the University delivers vital information sessions designed to assist new students settle into life as an ANU student. You will receive important information about your academic college, university residence life and policies and non-residential alternatives, the student services available, accommodation, visa and legislative requirements for international students, receive advice on program and course selection and attend academic skill development workshops. The various social events hosted on campus during O-week are also a great way to meet other new students so don't miss this great opportunity to give yourself the best possible start to your university life.

Set4ANU

SET4ANU is a fun, free program that allows for new students to be assigned a more experienced student volunteer. The volunteer students, who are called Orientation Leaders, help ease new students into their first few weeks of life at ANU. Having an Orientation Leader assigned to you through the SET4ANU program means you have someone you can contact if you have any questions (big or small) or just need someone to talk to. Apply for an Orientation Leader.

International Student Guide

The International Students' Department has put together an International Student's Guide for international students. Check it out!
