Have you ever wondered what happens when the legal and the aesthetic meet? What happens at the intersection of the word and the image? The written word so indispensable for our contemporary legal education often proves to be an insurmountable challenge when we encounter ethical dilemmas.
This exhibition brings together art pieces produced during the Challenging Words workshop held at the ANU College of Law in November. During the workshop lawyers and legal academics embarked on an innovative journey toward renewed forms of thinking about law and drew on methods and techniques from the visual arts and music to gain new levels of insight into vital legal questions and social issues.
This exhibition is illustrating what happens when the legal and the creative domains intersect and shows comics, collages and portraits that attempt to challenge law and the way we think about practicing, studying and teaching it.
Opening night is Friday 24 February from 5pm.
This exhibition will be shown in the ANU College of Law Foyer until Friday 10 March, 2017.
