All outbound exchanges must be arranged through ANU Global Programs.
For a step-by-step guide on how to apply for an overseas exchange, please refer to the application information on the ANU Global Programs website. Note, exchanges are coordinated centrally at ANU and the College is only involved in terms of academic approvals. When in doubt, address your query to Global Programs not the College.
Before you apply, please ensure you have completed the following steps:
- Read the information on the ANU Global Programs website
- Read the ANU College of Law Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) about exchange
- Attend a Global Programs information session (check their Facebook page for session times)
Approval process for law elective credit
As part of your application to Global Programs, you will need to have your College Endorsement form approved by the ANU College of Law if you are going on a Law exchange (i.e., if you intend to take any courses abroad for which you will be seeking ANU law elective credit). You should seek to have your form signed well in advance of the deadline. If you woudl like specific advice you can arrange an in-person meeting the Sub-Dean (International) to discuss your exchange plans and seek academic approval. Otherwise please just take your form in person to the College Student Adminstration Office to have it signed, or email it through to them.
The deadline for applications is set by Global Programs, twice a year.
Once approved for exchange and allocated a placement, and prior to departure overseas, you will need to have the specific law courses you are going to study approved by the Sub-Dean (International) so that you can be sure that those subjects will receive law elective credit on return.
If you are unsure about either of these two steps, or to either secure an appointment for approval (in person), or to have your subjects approved (by email), contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
