Clinical Youth Law Program
Based in a community legal practice environment, LAWS4267/LAWS6267 Clinical Youth Law Program is a 6 unit elective course for later year law students, provided in collaboration with ACT Legal Aid which hosts the Youth Law Centre ACT. Students participate in the Youth Law Centre, a non-profit legal service for ACT youth aged 12-25 years. While analysing the various roles that lawyers can play, students will focus on extending legal assistance, social justice and reform - particularly in relation to youth legal needs in the ACT.
Community Law Clinical Program
LAWS4268/LAWS6268 Community Law Clinical Program is a 6 unit elective course offered in partnership between the ANU College of Law and Canberra Community Law. During the course, students work for one full day per week at the centre where they provide legal information and undertake casework under the supervision of solicitors.

Public Interest Law Clinical Program
This course provides clinical placement of students in pairs at various ACT community agencies for a total of 10-12 students each semester. Students work with the staff of their agency one day per week. This exposure is coupled with whole group seminars and reporting and reflective session in weekly tutorials.

Our law internship offers selected high achieving students an unparalleled opportunity to carry out a law-based research project in a legal professional workplace. The internship work may be set in a government department, law firm, parliament, or non-government organisation, and there are increasing opportunities for overseas internships. Australian National Internships Program
The Australian National Internships Program (ANIP) gives undergraduate and postgraduate students an opportunity to work at the heart of Australian policy and politics. The elite program arranges research-orientated internships at the Australian Federal Parliament, the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly, in the public service or non-government organisations. ANU Law students may count the internship as one of your non-law electives, or as part of your other degree in a Flexible Double Degree.
The Washington Internship program gives students a unique opportunity to rub shoulders with some of the most powerful people in American politics. The six-week internships at the United States Congress take place in January and February and are available to Australian National University undergraduate students. ACICIS Indonesia's Law Professional Practicum (LPP)
$3,000 New Colombo Plan mobility grants are available to undergraduate students wishing to spend Summer 2018 studying in Indonesia on ACICIS Study Indonesia’s Law Professional Practicum (LPP). Students attend two weeks of academic tuition, including Indonesian language classes and a series of seminars and fieldtrips, prior to undertaking a four-week supervised practicum placement (internship) in an Indonesian legal workplace environment. No background in Indonesian language is required to participate in this program. Applications for 2018 open soon.
