Beyond the classroom

Clinical courses and internships

ANU Law offers a range of clinical courses to give its students the opportunity to engage with real clients and legal issues, offering clinical programs in Youth Law, Community Law, Indigenous Community Law, Environmental Law and International Social Justice.

Our law internships offer students the opportunity to carry out a law-based research projects in Australia and in the United States - at the heart of Australian politics and government at Parliament House and the Australian Capital Territory Legislative Assembly - and in the United States Congress.

Our network of international exchange partner universities creates opportunities for students to complete part of their degree overseas.

At the ANU College of Law we are committed to helping students become part of that collegiality and to feel they are known and supported as an individual student. We do this through our first year student mentoring program CHAT and our Peer Assisted Learning Program.

Mooting and student competitions

ANU Law has a proud tradition of competing in national and international mooting and negotiation competitions.  These competitions provide students with a significant opportunity to develop research, communication and legal advocacy skills as well as an opportunity to earn recognition and potential prize money.
