The Hon Margaret Stone AO was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List for her distinguished service to public administration, particularly to national security, to the judiciary, and to legal education.

Gary Humphries AO was appointed an Officer of the Order in Australia in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List for distinguished service to the Parliament of Australia, and to the Legislative Assembly of the Australian Capital Territory.

Dempster joins KPMG

Andrew Dempster, LLB (Hons) '95, BSc (Hons) '96, GDLP '96

Andrew Dempster has joined KPMG in Canberra as a Director. He previously founded his own consultancy firm, Proofpoint Advisory, and has worked at Swinburne University and as a Senior Adviser for the Minister for Foreign Affairs.

Kenn Lim has been named as one of Singapore's most influential lawyers aged 40 and under for 2018 by 'Singapore Business Review'. He is a partner at Colin Ng & Partners, making partner less than 4 years from the time of being called to the Singapore Bar.

John Wei has been appointed a Partner in the Holding Redlich Brisbane office in its national property and projects group. He previously consulted for Herbert Smith Freehills advising Chinese clients on international investments.

Chaudhri appointed to Ministerial Advisory Council

Radhika Chaudhri , BA '12, LLB (Hons) '12, LLM '14

Radhika Chaudhri has been appointed to the 2019-20 ACT Ministerial Advisory Council on Women. The Council is an independent voice, able to raise and debate those issues that matter to women in the ACT.

Zhang awarded 2019 Anne Wexler Scholarship

Xiao He (Helen) Zhang , BAsiaStudies ’10, LLB (Hons) ’10, GDLP ’12

Xiao He (Helen) Zhang has been awarded the 2019 Fulbright Anne Wexler Scholarship. She will undertake a Mid-Career Master in Public Administration at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government. Helen is currently a Legal Officer at DFAT.

Bao receives 2019 Fulbright Scholarship

Edmund Bao has been awarded a 2019 Fulbright Postgraduate Scholarship. He hopes to undertake a comparative study of the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and Australia’s anti-corruption regime, and their intersection with sociological jurisprudence.
