James Cheatley to join Screen Producers Australia

James Cheatley, BA (Hons) '07, LLB '07, GDLP '10

James Cheatley has been appointed the Government Relations and Policy Manager at Screen Producers Australia. James has over eight years’ experience in legal policy and copyright law. He formerly worked with the Australian Copyright Council.

Sarah Avery elected President of the Law Society of the ACT

Sarah Avery has been elected President of the Law Society of the ACT. She is the youngest lawyer to be president of the Society. She is currently a Senior Associate with Ken Cush & Associates and has previously served on the Society Executive.

Professor Megan Davis named a Women of Influence

Professor Megan Davis, GDLP '00, LLM '03, PhD '11

Professor Megan Davis has been named in The Australian Financial Review and Westpac 100 Women of Influence Awards 2016 in the Global category. She is a respected international lawyer and academic and works with the UN on issues affecting Indigenous people.

Philip Clark to host 'Nightlife'

Philip Clark, BA '77, LLB '81

Philip Clark will be hosting national ABC Local Radio program ‘Nightlife’ until the end of the year. He is a veteran breakfast host and has been hosting the 666 ABC Canberra Breakfast show since January 2014.

Mereseini Vuniwaqa has been appointed as the Minister for Women, Children and Poverty Alleviation in the Fijian ministry. She was the former Minister for Land and Mineral Resources.

Graeme Neate appointed to the ACAT

Graeme Neate AM, BA '77, LLB (Hons) '79

Graeme Neate AM has been appointed as President of the ACT Civil and Administrative Tribunal from January 2017. He is a Commissioner of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission and was the former President of the National Native Title Tribunal.
