Anderson featured in historic photo of women in law
Louise Anderson, BA '84, LLB '92
Louise Anderson is one of the 21 women featured in a photo of Australian women who hold the most powerful legal positions. She is currently CEO of the Supreme Court of Victoria and was previously Registrar of the Social Security Appeals Tribunal.

Woolcott appointed Chief of Staff
Peter Woolcott AO , BA '76, LLB '77
Peter Woolcott AO has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Australia. He will commence on 4 September. He has held many senior diplomatic appointments and was most recently Australia’s High Commissioner to New Zealand.

Will Sharpe has been promoted to Partner of the insurance and corporate risk team in the Canberra office of MinterEllison. He is a leading administrative and government lawyer experienced in advising government agencies.

Whyte-Southcombe to be a Judge for HR Excellence Awards
Kathryn Whyte-Southcombe, BAsianStudies (Japanese) ’99, LLB ’99
Kathryn Whyte-Southcombe has been named as a Judge for the 2017 HR Excellence Awards – Asia’s only regional awards for HR. She is currently Head of Talent and Resourcing at the InterContinental Hotels Group and is based in Singapore.

Whiteside named Partner at Maddocks
Andrew Whiteside , LLB (Hons) '01
Andrew Whiteside has been promoted to Partner at Maddocks in the Melbourne office. He advises on technology contracting, government procurement and health law and was listed as a Rising Star by Australasian Lawyer in 2016.

Koehne-Drube becomes full-time tour guide travelling the world for free
Tamina Koehne-Drube, BAsia-PacStudies ’12, LLB (Hons) ‘12
Tamina Koehne-Drube is profiled by ‘Business Insider’ on her experience of leaving her job as Solicitor to become a tour guide for Topdeck. She is now the European Training & Recruitment Manager for Topdeck Travel and has travelled to over 20 countries.

Francesca Giorlando has been promoted to Partner in the Sydney office of King & Wood Mallesons. Previously a Senior Associate, she specialises in property development, investment, acquisitions and disposals.

Three ANU Law alumni promoted at Allens
Charles Ashton, Phil O'Sullivan and Jay Prasad,
Allens has announced a major appointment round which includes three alumni. Charles Ashton (GDLP ’09) and Phil O’Sullivan (GDLP ’10) were promoted to Managing Associate in the Sydney and Brisbane offices and Jay Prasad (GDLP '12) to Senior Associate.

Milner appointed Partner
Craig Milner, LLB (Hons) ‘98
Allens has appointed Craig Milner as Partner in its tax advisory team. He was previously at Corrs Chambers Westgarth, where he led the firm’s tax practice from 2014. He has particular expertise in infrastructure, property, and private equity.
