Qin named a Finalist

Lisa Qin has been named as a Finalist in the 2018 Australia China Alumni Awards in the Young Australia China Alumni of the Year Award. She is based in Beijing and is currently an Education Officer for UNICEF.

Richard Morrison, BA '92, LLB (Hons) '94, GDLP '95

Richard Morrison has been recruited to join Norton Rose Fulbright’s Canberra office. He was previously a Partner at Sparke Helmore. Richard is a leading Government lawyer and was listed in the AFR's Best Lawyers 2019.

Lu elected Fellow of Australian Academy of Law

Dr Andrew Lu OAM FAAL , SJD ‘11

Dr Andrew Lu OAM FAAL has been elected a Fellow of Australian Academy of Law. There are fewer than 350 Fellows in the Academy – with less than 30 solicitor Fellows. Andrew is one of Western Australia’s top medical negligence lawyers.

Manderson receives Australian Academy of Law Honour

Professor Desmond Manderson FAAL has been elected a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Law. Professor Manderson is an ARC Future Fellow and Director of the Centre for Law, Arts & the Humanities at the ANU College of Law.

The Hon Justice Janine Pritchard, BA ’90, LLB (Hons) ‘93

The Hon Justice Janine Pritchard has been appointed a Judge of the Court of Appeal of Western Australia. She will take up the position immediately. She was previously Judge of the Supreme Court of Western Australia.

Letizia Torres, LLB '95

Letizia Torres has been appointed to the Magistrates’ Court of Victoria. She was previously a barrister with more than two decades’ experience in criminal matters including appearing extensively for the Department of Health and Human Services.

Dr Peter Prince has been awarded the 2018 Deen De Bortoli Award for Applied History for his essay ‘Australia’s most inhumane mass deportation abuse? Robtelmes v Brenan and expulsion of the Alien Islanders.’
