Ryan appointed to Australia-China Council

Dan Ryan has been appointed to the Australia-China Council board. He is Managing Director of Serica Legal & Advisory he has contributed to The Wall Street Journal, The Australian, The South China Morning Post and The Australian Financial Review.

Zeccola appointed Partner of Griffin Legal

Carina Zeccola , BActs '12, LLB '12, GDLP '14

Carina Zeccola has been appointed as a Partner of Griffin Legal – its first partner appointment since the firm started in 2009. She has been at Griffin Legal for most of her legal career and has extensive experience in commercial and government matters.

Isabelle Reinecke receives 2016 Churchill Fellowship

Isabelle Reinecke , LLB (Hons) '11, BSc (Psych) '12

Isabelle Reinecke has received a 2016 Churchill Fellowship to learn from international models that enable people to create systemic change through the courts. She will travel to Switzerland, the Netherlands, Germany, Hungary, Canada and the USA.

George Witynski has sadly passed away in Canberra. He has been acknowledged as one of the finest government lawyers of his generation which included being commissioned by the Governor-General as a Commonwealth Senior Counsel.

Dannelle Howley has been appointed as a Partner with Squire Patton Boggs in Sydney. She is a real estate law specialist with a focus on complex, structured and large-scale transactions and was a former Corporate Partner at Allen & Overy.

Antony Disciscio has joined Piper Alderman Adelaide’s office in the national dispute resolution team. He has particular experience in insolvency, recoveries and restructuring and was formerly a Senior Associate with Lynch Meyer Lawyers.

McGrath appointed as Judge

Joseph McGrath , LLB ‘90

Joseph McGrath has been appointed a Judge of the Western Australia Supreme Court. He was formerly the Director of Public Prosecutions for Western Australia and has over 20 years experience in litigation including as a Barrister at Francis Burt Chambers.

Alumna shortlisted for 2016 NSW Young Lawyer of the Year

Melissa Mastronardi, BA '09, LLB (Hons) '09, GDLP '10

Melissa Mastronardi has been shortlisted in the 2016 NSW Young Lawyer of the Year awards. Melissa is currently a Lawyer in Dubbo and has been recognised for her work in acting as a conduit between regional young lawyers and NSW Young Lawyers.
