New Partner for HDY Canberra office

Melanie McKean has been appointed a Partner in the Canberra office at Henry Davis York. She was previously a Partner at HWL Ebsworth. She brings significant expertise in Commonwealth government practice.

Marshall Appointed Partner at Holding Redlich

Benjamin Marshall, BSc ’02, LLB ’02, GDLP ’07

Benjamin Marshall has been appointed a partner in the Holding Redlich Melbourne office. He is based in the workplace relations and safety group. He previously worked at Arnold Bloch Leibler in employment law for ten years.

Frances Forbes Society Essay for Australian Legal History

Daniel McKay has won the Tertiary Student category in the Forbes Society Essay Competition. His essay was titled, Under the Crown: Evolving Interpretations of the Office of Australian Governor-General as Constitutional Link to the British Empire 1890-1931.

Nick Mann has recently launched Polaris Lawyers – a Victoria-headquartered personal injury law firm. He was formerly the Victorian head of medical negligence at Slater Gordon Lawyers.

Megan Davis appointed UNSW’s Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous

Professor Megan Davis, GDLP ’00, LLM ’03, PhD ’11

Professor Megan Davis has been appointed as UNSW’s first Pro Vice-Chancellor Indigenous. She will take up the role in June following her role in leading the Referendum Council Aboriginal Constitutional Dialogues.

Rebecca Vassarotti has been appointed as the interim CEO for Alzheimer’s Australia ACT. She has spent the last 15 years working in areas that focus on gender, homelessness, consumer health, reducing poverty and inequality.

Justice David Mossop sworn in as Judge

The Honourable Justice David Mossop, LLM ’98

Justice David Mossop has been sworn in as the ACT’s newest Supreme Court Judge. He is the ACT’s 22nd resident Judge and has was previously Master of the Court and a civil barrister with Blackburn Chambers.
