Lauren Piscioneri has joined Colin Biggers & Paisley as a Senior Associate in the Melbourne office. She previously worked for Lander & Rogers and is a specialist in employment practices liability and occupational health and safety.

Lawton appointed to the ACT Magistrates Court

James Lawton, BA ’95, LLB ’98, GDLP ’98

James Lawton has been appointed a Magistrate in the ACT Magistrates Court. He has previously worked for the ACT Legal Aid Office Criminal Law Section, as a Senior Advocate at the ACT Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and as a Barrister.

Claire Carton, BA '99, LLB '00

Claire Carton has been announced as a Finalist in the category Law Firm Leader of the Year (<200 Lawyers) in the 2019 Australasian Law Awards. She is the Managing Partner of Griffin Legal in Canberra.

Lu appointed to WA State Administrative Tribunal

Dr Andrew Lu OAM FAAL, SJD '11

Dr Andrew Lu has been appointed the newest sessional member of the WA State Administrative Tribunal. He is the first Asian Australian lawyer appointed to the tribunal. He is currently also a Partner with HBA Legal.

Robertson appointed as new Consul-General

Broughton Robertson , MLitt ’94, MIntLaw ‘96

Broughton Robertson has been appointed as Australia’s new Consul-General in Shenyang, China. He is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and was most recently Director, China Political and External Section.

The Hon Margaret Stone AO was appointed an Officer of the Order of Australia in the 2019 Australia Day Honours List for her distinguished service to public administration, particularly to national security, to the judiciary, and to legal education.
