Karen grew up on a large cattle station on the Liverpool Plains. After graduating from ANU she spent ten years working as a lawyer in Canberra - first in general practice at Jill McSpedden & Associates and later in commercial litigation at Dibbs Barker. She worked briefly as a herbalist at 'The Hierophant', and now runs a corporate training business in the Hunter Valley. She is currently writing an adult historical novel and continues to expand the Kalika Magic series.
