Starting in private practice with MinterEllison, Carolyn moved on to serve as an in-house counsel in the aviation sector, at AWAS Aviation Services (owned by Morgan Stanley). With Westpac she has worked in a variety of roles, including Head of Group Corporate Legal, Chief of Staff to Westpac CEO Brian Hartzer, and her current role as Chief Risk Officer of BT Financial Group, Westpac's wealth division.
- Named 2013 In-house Woman Lawyer of the Year by the Women Lawyers Association of NSW.
- Responsible for overseeing matters ranging from auditing, reporting and director liabilities, to mergers and charitable initiatives, as Westpac's Head of Group Corporate Legal.
- A stint as the Chief of Staff to the Westpac Group CEO Brian Hartzer, for his first two and half years as CEO.
- Responsible for risk and regulatory compliance matters for BT Financial Group as Chief Risk Officer.
