Annemarie is an experienced international, constitutional and human right lawyer. Within Australia, she has worked for the Office of International Law in the Attorney-General's Department. With the United Nations, she has worked with three peacekeeping missions in East Timor, the Security Council's Counter Terrorism Committee Executive Directorate in New York, the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Geneva and Nepal, as well as with several International Commissions of Inquiry.

  • Received the University Medal in Law and the University Medal in History. She also received the Tillyard Prize, the Supreme Court Judges Prize, the George Knowles Memorial Prize and the YWMCA Prize.
  • Coordinated Australia's first Universal Periodic Review appearance before the Human Rights Council.
  • Involved in advising on constitutional processes and transitional justice processes in several post-conflict contexts.
