Historian and Author
Prior to being elected to the seat of Eastwood, Andrew practised as a barrister in commercial, equity and shipping law. After a distinguished career in politics, during which he championed a number of reforms and sponsored over 30 private member bills, he retired to pursue the historical writing for which he is so renowned.
- Historian and author of a number of acclaimed work such as William Charles Wentworth: Australia's greatest native son which 'The Nib' CAL Waverley Award for Literature and Lord Sydney: the life and times of Tommy Townshend.
- Former NSW Shadow Attorney-General, Shadow Leader of the House, Chairman of the Parliamentary Public Accounts Committee and Parliamentary Sectary to the Premier.
- President of the Library Council of NSW, a Trustee of the Historic Houses Trust, an Adjunct Professor at Macquarie University Law School and a member of the Australian National University's Human Research Ethics Committee.
